Move your business email to Microsoft 365
If your email still runs on whatever came free with your web hosting, you've probably felt its limits. Small mailboxes, dodgy webmail, and that nagging worry about where your messages actually live.
Where it hurts
Old hosting-provider email tends to be cramped and fragile. You hit the mailbox limit and start deleting things you might need. The webmail looks like it's from 2009. And backups are anyone's guess.
Working across devices is a pain too. An email you read on your phone still shows unread on your laptop, calendars don't sync, and there's no shared diary so nobody knows who's where.
The bigger risk is you're one hosting problem away from losing years of correspondence, with no real support to call when it goes wrong.
What I'd build
I'd move you onto Microsoft 365 and bring your existing mail across, planning the switch so nothing gets left behind and there's no gap where messages could bounce. That means a proper 50GB mailbox each, mail that syncs cleanly across every device, shared calendars, and Teams thrown in. I'll handle the DNS changes carefully so mail keeps flowing during the switch, set up any shared mailboxes like info@ or accounts@, and show your team the handful of things that'll feel different.
What changes
- Your old email and folders come across in the move
- Big mailboxes that sync properly across phone, laptop and desk
- Shared calendars and Teams come as part of the package
- The switch is timed so mail keeps flowing throughout
