What this site collects while you browse
Yes, this site keeps statistics; every business site you visit does, and I'd rather tell you plainly. The difference here is how: no third-party trackers run on any page, no Google tags, no social pixels, no advertising cookies. Visit statistics come from Matomo, self-hosted on the same server the site lives on: which pages get read and roughly for how long, with your IP address shortened before it's stored so it doesn't identify you. Those numbers exist so I can see which pages earn their keep, and they never leave my server. The web server also keeps standard technical logs (your IP address and browser type) for a few weeks, for security. The pricing page works out your rough location, country only, as it loads, to show prices in your currency; it isn't stored anywhere.
Adverts, and how you found us
I advertise, on Google and occasionally elsewhere, and I want to know honestly whether it works. If you arrive through an advert or a tagged link, the address carries a small label saying so, and that label simply rides along on the links as you browse; nothing gets stored on your device. If you then book a review, the label travels with the booking, which is how I know which advert earned it. What doesn't happen: no advertising network watches you on this site, nothing follows you around the internet afterwards, and nobody's data gets bought or sold. The ad platforms themselves know you clicked their advert on their own pages, under their own policies, before you ever reached mine.
What happens when you book or email
If you book a review, the booking runs on Cal.com, which processes your name, email address and whatever you type in the form under its own privacy policy. Those details land in my calendar and inbox, which run on Microsoft 365. When a booking lands, the details you typed, your name and what you said you need help with, may be used to draft my welcome reply with help from an AI service (Anthropic's Claude) under a commercial agreement that doesn't train on your data; I read and send every message myself. Booking emails and threads are kept as ordinary business records. If you email [email protected], I keep the thread. If you message on WhatsApp, the conversation runs over Meta's WhatsApp service under their terms, and it stays between us; you don't get added to anything. That's the lot. Nothing is sold, shared or added to a marketing list.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email [email protected] and it'll be done. If you're unhappy with how I've handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Terms, the short version
Work is quoted as a fixed price in a written proposal, and nothing on this site forms a contract; that happens when we both agree a proposal. Anything I build for you is logged, scoped to named data flows, and documented before it goes live. The site itself is provided as-is; if something on it is wrong or broken, tell me and I'll fix it.
