Reviews and repeat business

Get your Google review link and QR code

You know reviews matter, but the link Google buries in your profile is a mess, and telling a customer to "search for us and click stars" loses most of them before they start.

Where it hurts

The problem isn't willingness. Most happy customers would leave a review if it took ten seconds. The trouble is friction: they have to open Google, find the right business (not the one two streets over with a similar name), scroll past the map and photos, and eventually spot the stars. By then they've been distracted by a text and the moment's gone.

Then there's the guessing about where to put the ask. A QR code on a card that lives in a drawer does nothing. A link in an email you never send does nothing. And a review page that opens on a laptop when the customer's holding a phone is one more reason to give up.

The direct link exists. Google gives every profile a short review URL that drops someone straight onto the write-a-review box. Most owners just don't know where it's hiding, or how to turn it into something you can print on a van.

What I'd build

I'd pull your exact direct review link from your Google Business Profile (the short g.page/r/ style one that opens the star box straight away), then generate a clean QR code that points at it. From there I'd put it where it earns its keep: a sticker for the counter or van, a small card to hand over at the end of a job, the footer of your invoice and quote emails, and the automatic "job done" message if you send one. I'd test every one on a real phone so the link opens the right business and the box appears first tap. If you want the whole ask automated so it fires after a completed job, I'd wire that into your review-request flow rather than leaving it as a card someone has to remember to hand out.

What changes

  • Your genuine direct review link, tested on a phone, opening the star box in one tap
  • A QR code as print-ready files for van, counter card, sticker or receipt
  • The link dropped into your invoice and quote email footers so every job carries it
  • Optionally wired into an automatic ask after each completed job
As with everything here, you get one number before any work starts; here's how pricing works.
