Move from Wix to WordPress without losing your SEO
You've decided Wix has boxed you in, and you're right to want out. The bit that keeps people stuck is the fear that moving will tank the Google ranking they've spent years earning.
Where it hurts
Wix is easy to start on and hard to leave. Your content lives inside their system, your page addresses follow their pattern, and when you rebuild elsewhere every one of those addresses changes. Get that wrong and Google sees a site full of dead pages where your old ones used to be.
So the traffic that quietly brought in enquiries every week just stops. It's the sort of damage you don't notice for a month, then can't easily undo.
The move itself isn't the scary part. The scary part is the redirects, the search console housekeeping and the small details that decide whether Google carries your reputation over or starts you back at zero.
What I'd build
I'd map every existing Wix page to its new address before anything goes live, then set up proper 301 redirects so both people and Google land in the right place. The new site would usually be WordPress or Squarespace depending on what you want to manage yourself. I'd move the content, keep your titles and headings that already rank, submit the new sitemap through Google Search Console, and watch the numbers for a few weeks after to catch anything that slips.

- You're on a platform you can actually move again later if you want
- Someone's watching the search numbers after launch, not just before
