A daily sales report email, in your inbox every morning
There's a version of you that logs into the till system every morning to check yesterday, and a version that means to and forgets. A short email sorts that.
Where it hurts
When you've got a shop, a cafe or an online store, yesterday's number is the first thing you want to know. But getting it means logging into a portal, remembering the password, clicking to the right date, and squinting at a report built for accountants.
So you check it when you remember, which is Mondays and the odd panicked afternoon. The rest of the week you're running blind, and a quietly bad patch can go on longer than it should before you notice.
It doesn't need a dashboard or a login. It needs a plain email, first thing, that just tells you how yesterday went.
What I'd build
I'd set up a short email that lands every morning with yesterday's takings from your till, card machine or Shopify: total sales, number of transactions, maybe a compare against the same day last week so the number means something. It goes to whoever needs it, weekends included if you want, and reads in five seconds on your phone before you're properly awake. No login, no report to open, just the number waiting for you.
What changes
- Yesterday's takings in your inbox before you start the day
- No portal, no password, no report to dig out
- A compare against last week so you can feel the trend
- Goes to whoever needs it, every day including weekends
