A live dashboard from your Xero numbers
Your numbers are all in Xero. The trouble is you have to go digging for them, click through three reports, and by the time you've found what you wanted you've forgotten what you were worried about.
Where it hurts
Xero holds everything, but it shows you everything one report at a time. To get a feel for how the month's going you open the dashboard, then the aged receivables, then the profit and loss, then you try to hold three numbers in your head at once.
So most owners just don't look. They wait for the accountant, or they go on gut feel, and the first real sign of a problem is a tight month they didn't see coming.
What you actually want is one screen. Cash in the bank, sales this month against last, who owes you, what you owe, and whether you're up or down. No clicking, no digging.
What I'd build
I'd pull the numbers straight out of Xero through its own connection and lay them out on a single screen you can open on your phone or pin up in the office: sales this month against last, cash position, who owes you and what you owe. It refreshes on its own, so it's always today's picture, not last week's export. Then the layer a dashboard can't do by itself: an AI step reads the same numbers on a schedule and flags what's drifted (a customer sliding past their usual paying pattern, overheads creeping ahead of last year, sales pace behind the month before) and sends you a short plain-English note about it. The screen gives you the ten-second glance; the note taps you on the shoulder on the weeks you forget to look.
What changes
- The numbers that matter on one screen, refreshed automatically
- A short note that flags what's drifted, so you needn't remember to look
- Spot a slow month while you can still do something about it
- Works on your phone, so you can glance at it anywhere
